Hubbell, Roth & Clark, Inc. (HRC) was commissioned by the City of Marysville to provide professional design and construction engineering services to replace a 1,200 foot section of an existing 18” diameter sanitary sewer trunk line with a 24” diameter PVC pipe. This project eliminated a “bottleneck” that was previously identified in the system. It also provided an opportunity to relocate the sewer within an existing road right-of-way to ease access and maintenance.
The HRC design team evaluated pipe material and location alternatives.
Major elements of work included:
- Extensive utility coordination including several high pressure gas, petroleum and chemical lines ranging is size from 6” to 30” diameter.
- Innovative trenchless utility design and construction techniques including Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD), jack and bore and vacuum excavation.
- Abandonment of over 1,000’ of 18” sanitary sewer & the installation of new sanitary leads.
