Ergonomic Workstations Offer Better Focus, Overall Wellness

Long hours staring at the computer can take a toll on your body. When the consequences of poor posture (i.e. headaches, back pain, knee pain, stomach pain or eyestrain) rear their ugly head, it is time to take drastic measures.

Some of our employees are not waiting for the effects to appear. We have interviewed a few of them and they have taken advantage of new products that help them improve their overall well-being and quality of their work. Taking a more proactive approach, they are giving their workspace a makeover by setting up an ergonomic workstation.

Stephanie CarverStephanie Carver – Receptionist

What tools have you implemented to make your workstation ergonomically friendly?
“I have implemented an adjustable and elevated desk, with a head piece for posture purposes.”

How often do you stand during the day?
“While at my desk, I stand 1/2-3/4 of the day.”

What would you consider are the benefits of having an ergonomic workspace?
“I got the stand up workstation because of terrible neck, shoulder, and back pain, which could have been part of the cause of some severe headaches I was having. I got the earpiece for the same reason; leaning to answer the phone was not good for my neck and shoulders. Now, I can be more mobile around the lobby area with the earpiece. Also, standing burns more calories than sitting so I feel healthier and ready to fit into that wedding dress I ordered!”
